Dunlop Series leader Ash Walsh will start race one from the rear of the grid, after being excluded from this morning's qualifying session due to a weigh bridge infringement.

Stewards found the Matt Stone Racing driver was in breach of parc ferme rules after failing to drive his Infants Friend Falcon to the weigh bridge post-qualifying.

Usually mechanics have the onus of presenting the car to the scales, however the rule was changed by officials for the Coates Hire Ipswich 400.

The Ipswich native was due to kick off his assault on the 'paperclip' in fourth position, but will now begin the race from 30th on the grid.

The relegation poses as another hindrance to Walsh's title campaign, who leads the series by a close 47 points to Eggleston Motorsport's Paul Dumbrell.

150 points are on offer for today's 29 lap race.

Title contender Cameron Waters will start the Dunlop Series' 250th race start from pole position this afternoon, while Dumbrell will join him on the front row.

Racing kicks off this afternoon at 3.25 EST.
