Rising Supercars star Jack Le Brocq made it two victories from two starts in the Dunlop Super2 Series at Phillip Island today.

After being overtaken with the finish line in sight yesterday afternoon, Le Brocq powered away from the field in both races today, to move into second in the championship standings, leapfrogging Todd Hazelwood.

In sunny conditions on the gruelling Phillip Island circuit, Le Brocq’s #28 Nissan Altima crossed the line in race two with a comfortable margin of 2.8 seconds over Anton De Pasquale.

The young gun's success today means he is now just six points behind Paul Dumbrell on the Coates Hire Leaderboard.

Dumbrell and Hazelwood proved the battle was on in race two, giving it their all as they continue their fight for top place in the Super2 series.

An attempted pass at MG Corner saw Hazelwood spin Dumbrell which was investigated immediately by race control. Hazelwood incurred a 15 second post-race penalty for the incident.

Defending champion Garry Jacobson made a significant comeback this afternoon after a puncture to his right rear tyre caused him to spin out in today’s earlier race.

Jacobson started Race 3 this afternoon from 22nd position, but fought his way back to finish eighth and keep his championship hopes alive.

The Dunlop Super2 Series is back on track tomorrow at 12:35pm in their final race of the weekend.
