Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Richard Muscat has been stripped of his podium finish in Townsville’s Dunlop Super2 Series round.

An investigation concluded at Queensland Raceway has seen Muscat admit to a breach of careless driving that triggered a multi-car incident on a late restart in the Sunday race.

Contact from Muscat saw Bryce Fullwood pushed into his MW Motorsport team-mate Jack Le Brocq, who subsequently collected Paul Dumbrell as he spun out of fourth place.

Others delayed in the incident included the third MWM Nissan of Shae Davies and Brad Jones Racing's Macauley Jones.

Muscat went on to take the chequered flag in third place to secure third for the round, but has dropped to 17th in the race result due to a 15 second penalty being awarded.

That elevates Fullwood into third for the race and Jack Perkins into third for the round behind winner Todd Hazelwood and second-placed man Anton De Pasquale.

Muscat also plummets from sixth to 10th in the series points, losing places to Garry Jacobson, Will Brown, Jack Perkins and Macauley Jones.

The Dunlop Super2 Series continues at the Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint next month.
