Youngest ever V8 Supercar Dunlop Series driver Kurt Kostecki will be dealt a five grid spot penalty after qualifying tomorrow.
The stewards found the 16-year-old breached the rules when he failed to enter pit lane after the red flag was deployed in today's final practice session.
The West Australian teen was also handeda $2,500 fine.
Kostecki - who is part of the RSport Race Engineering squad - recorded the 20th quickest time in the first session today, before improving to sit 18th in practice two.
Despite being a Perth local, Kostecki had never raced around the 2.42km circuit until today.
To boost his preparation for the UBET Perth SuperSprint, Kostekci logged some laps around the track during his school holidays in an ex-Craig Lowndes BF Falcon.
"I haven't raced [at Barbagallo] surprisingly and a lot of people are quite shocked by that," Kostecki told v8supercars.com.au.

Reigning Champion Paul Dumbrell topped the first session, with Chris Pither quickest in the second.
Qualifying begins at 11.55am local time, with the first race following at 2.25pm.
