Andrew Jones is the latest driver from the BJR squad to debut a new livery for the upcoming round in Townsville.

Michael Buck and his company A.L.B Distributors ‘The one for the Fans’ have been a long-term supporter of Jones.

Jones currently sits fourth in the Dunlop Series Championship and scored ARMOR ALL Pole Position at the last round in Perth.

Considering he has tasted success with a podium result in Townsville in 2013, it is set to be another solid weekend for the Dunlop Series racer.

“It’s always great to head to Townsville and connect with Buckie and the guys at A.L.B Distributors," Jones said.

"They really get behind their local community, this event and Supercars. Buckie has been on all the local radio stations promoting this weekends’ Supercars event, so everyone knows we are coming to town.

"To showcase the A.L.B Distributors brand for him at his home event is awesome.”

The street circuit is one Jones enjoys racing on.

“The Townsville 400 reminds me of Adelaide’s Clipsal 500 round," he said.

"It is such a good event, the whole town gets behind it and the atmosphere here is second to none.

"The whole circuit provides drivers with a unique and fun challenge. I love the amount of kerb that can be used here, the corners here are all medium speed and big commitment here rewards you with a good lap time.”

Illness sidelined Jones at last year’s Townsville event and he does not want another repeat of watching from the sidelines in 2016.

Jones jokingly added, “Our main aim for this weekend is to complete more laps than we did in 2015!”

A.L.B Distributors will be hosting an autograph session and meet and greet with Andrew Jones, along with Jason Bright, Tim Slade, Tim Blanchard, Macauley Jones and the team’s Kumho V8 Touring Car driver (Townsville local) Josh Smith at the Fan Gallery this Thursday July 7 from 11am-1pm. A.L.B Distributors is located at 15 Mackley Street, Garbutt.

The team yesterday revealed a new look for Tim Slade for the Castrol EDGE Townsville SuperSprint.

The Alliance Truck Parts livery will be back on Jones’ Commodore for the remaining rounds of the championship.
