Dunlop Series Championship leader Garry Jacobson receives backing from a multi-national automotive brand as he approaches the Coates Hire Sydney 500, to defend his series lead and win his first title in the Series.

The partnership with EXEDY represents Jacobson’s first sponsorship involvement with a major global brand, speaking volumes for the quality of his talent.

The 24-year-old Prodrive racer said he is in a good state of mind as he heads to the 2016 finale, 166 points ahead of teammate Jack Le Brocq.

Jacobson emphasised it had been great to have good momentum coming in from Bathurst and attracting some great sponsorship for the final round of the series.

"We are getting a lot more exposure on our car with the championship leading car at the moment,” Jacobson said.

“It is incredibly exciting to welcome EXEDY as a personal sponsor for the Sydney 500, which has all the makings of a thrilling Dunlop Supercar Series grand final, considering what the racing has been like this season.

“It is also humbling to have been selected by a company that is also a globally renowned brand in the automotive industry. I look forward to making everyone at EXEDY along with their huge auto trade and high performance customer base both here and abroad very proud.”

EXEDY Australia Director and General Manager Kabel Davis said he is pleased to partner the brand with Jacobson at such an important and pivotal time in his career.

“I have been keeping an eye on the Dunlop Supercar Series this season and the racing at the front of the field has been nothing short of sensational,” Mr Davis stated.

“There is no doubt that Garry is one of the major success stories of the 2016 season and we hope that our ‘Number One in Clutch’ slogan will be replicated with Garry earning the coveted number one champion’s plate after the Sydney 500.”

EXEDY is the world’s largest Original Equipment clutch manufacturer for Japanese vehicles and a major Original Equipment supplier to Ford, General Motors, VW, Daimler and more.  It is the leading brand of clutch kits and components for Australian and New Zealand automotive repairers, along with racing enthusiasts who are supplied through national key distributors.

Ultra Air Conditioning will also partner with Jacobson at the finale, along with his 2016 loyal sponsor group; Challenger Valves and Actuators, MGA Insurance, Bike Gallery, Performance Health Care and McQuinn Electrical.
