Front runner Todd Hazelwood is set to race the Supercars Dunlop Series category in 2017 with a new major sponsor on-board.

The Coates Hire Sydney 500 this weekend will be the end of an era for iseek Racing, after Hazelwood announced the sponsors departure this week.

“We have some pretty big news going into this weekend with the departure of iseek racing,” Hazelwood told Supercars.com.

Hazelwood noted the team will be going on an exciting new venture next year and will be transitioning into a new brand for 2017, which is yet to be named.

“We can announce we will be having a major partner but what brand we will be announcing soon,” Hazelwood said.

“At this stage, nothing is confirmed yet but it’s in the works and Jason Gomersall has put his full support in for next year too.

“We have been in partnership with iseek for three years now and Jason has been the backbone of my racing career in Supercars and if it wasn’t for him I would be where I am today.”

Hazelwood explained Touring Cars Masters racer and managing director of long standing sponsor iseek Communication, Jason Gomersall will remain with the team.

“Jason is in partnership with this new brand coming on board,” Hazelwood said.

“We are still going to have the involvement from Jason himself steering the ship and being apart of the program.

“He will be acting as more of a management role in the team on a commercial basis which is exciting for us and we have been doing a little bit of that this year and it has been very successful.”

The young gun mentioned 2016 has been a year for learning with the COTF, in what is effectively a one car team.

“This year has been a big year for the team and I learning with the new car,” Hazelwood said.

“Hopefully we can expand our program in 2017.

“Its exciting times ahead we have been working hard over the last few weeks getting everything locked in and sponsors conformed and everyone is exciting and jumping on board.”
