Prodrive sensation Garry Jacobson celebrated his inaugural Supercars Dunlop Series title victory at the Verney Road Special School in his hometown of Shepparton yesterday.

The 24-year-old’s championship winning Falcon was the focus of attention with school students and local media taking a close up look.

The young racer is a local hero in Shepparton as their first Supercars champion.

“It was great to be able to celebrate my championship victory with my loyal Shepparton based sponsors and bringing the PRA Falcon with the number one emblazoned on it really brought home the fact that I am the new champion,” Jacobson said.

“The Verney Road School kids are fantastic, they are my biggest fans because I drive their school bus when I am not racing, so we know each other really well. They keep track of my results and give me a rev-up when I am not winning or amazing support when I do”.

Jacobson mentioned it was really fitting to take the car and trophy to the school and give the children a chance to take a close up look, while also getting some signed posters.

“It was a great day and a great way to end off a fantastic year by thanking my loyal sponsors and fans here in my hometown for their amazing support,” Jacobson said.
