100 Rounds of the Dunlop Series

The V8 Supercars Dunlop Series cars will run a special decal in Perth this weekend to acknowledge 100 rounds of the category.

The 'event' sticker will run on both front doors, and teams will also have access to a special bumper sticker celebrating the milestone.

Fans will be able to collect the bumper sticker, which will feature on the rear of the Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores as they contest the second event this season at Barbagallo Raceway.

A special poster has also been created acknowledging the milestone, showing the previous title-winning cars throughout the years - these will be available for fans over the weekend and at Friday's autograph session.

All Dunlop Series drivers will participate inan autograph session on Friday from 11am to 11.30 in the Dunlop Series paddock, where the one-off poster will be handed out.

Now in its 16th season, the series was created in 2000 in response to the boom in V8 Supercar grid sizes of the late 1990s and as a means of providing privateer entrants and drivers a place to race.

The category has continued to grow across the years and has fostered young talents such as Mark Winterbottom back in 2003, and more recently Scott McLaughlin and Chaz Mostert.

Announced last week, teams that convert their V8 Supercar to the new generation model for next year, and purchase the equipment in time will be eligible as wild cards for this year's Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, yet another step to grow the category and make it a valid stepping stone for not just drivers, but team personnel looking to graduate to the 'main game'.

Ensure you don't miss any action this weekend, as veteran Paul Dumbrell takes on young star Cam Waters, both tied on points at the top of the table.

Tickets are available now for the Perth SuperSprint, beginning on Friday.

The Dunlop Series has two practice sessions on Friday, ahead of qualifying and race one on Saturday, and races two and three on Sunday.
