Paul Dumbrell has topped off a faultless weekend in the Dunlop Series, claiming victory in the first ever Wilson MedicOne Enduro.

The accomplished racer banked 300 championship points for the victory, capitalising on the demise of Ash Walsh who hit the wall at Reid Park, putting the Matt Stone Racing pilot out of the race and extending Dumbrell's title lead by 304 points.

Good strategy and an impressive drive saw Cameron Waters' bring his ENZED Falcon home in second, followed by kiwi Chris Pither - who scored another season podium in third and his BJR teammate Andrew Jones.

The FPR young gun lead the race in the closing stages, but a late safety car after Geoff Emery's shunt at Forrest's Elbow narrowed Waters' gap to a charging Dumbrell, who took back the race lead on the restart at HellCorner.

Todd Hazelwood finished his rookie assault of Mount Panorama in the Dunlop Series in fifth, ahead of fellow rookie Macauley Jones in 12th after the Rockstar Energy Drink Commodore was put into a spin at the exitof the Chase by another rookie, Dan Day.

Kiwi driver Andre Heimgartner was on track for a podium finish, until the Falcon he shared with Steve Owen was dealt a pit lane penalty after a crew member attended to the race car with shorts on during a routine pit stop.

The pit lane infringement saw Heimgartner and Owen take the chequered flag in seventh, behind Aaren Russell in sixth.

Morgan Haber, Ryal Harris and Jack Le Brocq completed the top ten.

Ant Pedersen was also sitting pretty for a podium finish, but an unexpected pit stop after contact with Eggleston Motorsport teammate Gary Jacobson saw him sacrifice a top spot, finishing 18th.

The mini enduro claimed eight cars in total, the first being a nasty shunt for Marcus Zukanovic, that saw the fuel tank ripped out of his Falcon andresting on the side of the circuit.

The safety car was deployed onto the circuit three times, forcing the race to be cut three laps short.
