Clipsal 500 Adelaide - Dunlop Series Practice 1 Highlights

A red flag shortened the first hit-out for the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series this morning, with the support category kicking off the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

2014 Champion Paul Dumbrell said it felt like racing speedway at the street circuit, with the first significant accident coming just six minutes into the half-hour hit-out with Jamie Sharp's Commodore into the tyres at the 1-2 Senna Chicane and drawing a red flag.

Team ENZED PRA young gun Cameron Waters topped the session with his1min23.4465 lap, followed by Eggleston Motorsport's Dumbrell, who made an error on his final fast lap after recording the fastest first sector.

Following in the top 10 was Andrew Jones, Garry Jacobson, Paul Morris, Ant Pedersen, Chris Pither, Todd Hazelwood, Taz Douglas and Aaren Russell.

Earlier this morning, the 11 rookie drivers had a 10-minute run on the circuit, with Shae Davies topping that group.

The V8 Supercars Dunlop Series has a second practice session at 12.20pm local time before qualifying later this afternoon.
