Your championship contender

Respected V8 Supercars journalists Bruce Newton, Mark Fogarty and James Phelps guest-starred on Inside Supercars during the week and each predicted the top five for 2016.

Jamie Whincup was the hot favourite, taking the top spot twice, while ‘Foges’ elected Scott McLaughlin to take the Championship win. 

Six drivers have won seven Championship races this year, and Prodrive’s stars Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert are certain to pounce as the V8 Supercars head to tracks that have suited the Ford Falcons in the past.

It is as tight as ever in the title fight – making it tough to guess what will happen next.
