V8 Supercars enduro specialist Luke Youlden will drive a “Think Holden” branded VE Commodore for Brad Jones Racing in Round Five of the Dunlop V8 Supercars Series at Winton (23-25 August).

Youlden unveiled the striking black and blue Commodore that includes Holden’s new “global” graphics at BJR’s Albury headquarters today.

Holden’s support of Youlden for Winton reaffirms its ongoing commitment to BJR, for which Youlden will drive alongside Fabian Coulthard in the Lockwood Racing VF Commodore in this year’s PIRTEK Enduro Cup.

Holden Motorsport Manager Simon McNamara was pleased to be able to provide assistance in preparing Youlden for his attack with BJR at Bathurst.

“Nothing substitutes seat time in V8 racing, and we’re happy to be able to help Luke be fully prepared for the enduros, by seeing him behind the wheel of the ‘Think Holden’ Commodore at Winton,” McNamara said.

“BJR have done a tremendous job this year and will present a formidable lineup with Luke joining Fabian in the Lockwood Commodore, and Andrew Jones driving with Jason Bright in the Team BOC entry.”

The “Think Holden” branding is complimented by signage from BJR’s loyal sponsors, including its major V8 Supercars main game backers, Lockwood and BOC.

BJR first entered V8 Supercars in 2000, switching to Holden in 2008; Bright collecting the Albury-based team’s first race wins in 2011.

Coulthard and Bright have both recorded race victories in the team’s tally of five wins in 2013 and they are currently fifth and sixth in the Championship standings, while BJR is third in the team’s points.

Youlden has been a regular V8 Supercars development series competitor; he finished second to BJR’s Andrew Jones in 2004 and has won five races in total.

His “Think Holden” VE Commodore Series II was built in 2010, and was raced by the late Jason Richards. It will be the second BJR car running in the DVS at Winton, alongside the existing entry of Jones. Youlden will test the Think Holden Commodore at Winton next Monday August 12.
