Entries have been finalised for the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series, with 28 competitors lining up at the season opening Clipsal 500.

The Dunlop Series has long been a proving ground for young talent, with drivers consistently stepping up from the development category into the V8 Supercars Championship.

2014 Champion Paul Dumbrell leads the charge this time around, running the #1 on his car for the first time, contesting the series once again with Eggleston Motorsport.

Cam Waters returns with Prodrive Racing (Australia) and is set to step up to the main game as a co-driver for the team come this year's Pirtek Enduro Cup.

Josh Kean joins the Brad Jones Racing fold, Chris Pither switches to MW Motorsport, and 2014 Mike Kable Young Gun award winner Todd Hazelwood returns with Matt Stone Racing.

Throw in seven rookies committed to the full season - Kurt Kostecki, Jesse Dixon, Bryce Fullwood, Renee Gracie, Shae Davies, Simon Evans and James Golding - as well as 2014 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 winner Paul Morris, and there's a great field of talent ready to race at the Clipsal 500.

The V8 Supercars Dunlop Series contests seven rounds this year - three Super Streets events at Adelaide, Townsville and Sydney, hosting two 30-minute races; the permanent circuits Perth, Perth, Ipswich and Winton hosting three 30-minute races (with no reverse grid).

The mini-enduro at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will remain after successful running this year, giving teams and drivers a real taste of the 1000, with the opportunity to run co-drivers and complete pit stops.

The V8 Supercars Dunlop Series practice and qualify on Thursday at the Clipsal 500, with Race One on Friday and Race Two Saturday.

Tickets are still available for the event, which begins in 10 days time, on February 26.
