Tickford Racing has announced contract renewals with star driver Chaz Mostert and his major sponsor Supercheap Auto through to the end of the 2019 Supercars season.

Mostert joined what was then Ford Performance Racing in late-2011 in the Dunlop Super2 Series, and made his main game debut in ’13, while loaned out to Dick Johnson Racing.

Including spending the last two years in Supercheap colours, Mostert has raced with the Ford squad full-time since 2014.

A new, two-year deal covering 2018 and ’19 was agreed before the end of last season, which has been paired with a similar renewal for his Falcon’s naming-rights sponsor.

“I am fully pumped to keep the consistency going,” Mostert, who has won 10 Supercars races including Bathurst in 2014 with the team, said.

“I have been at the team for quite a few years now and I honestly feel they are one of the top outfits so it is definitely the place I want to be.

“They’ve shown their loyalty to me in the early years and we’ll use the next few seasons to build on and achieve bigger and better things like going for Bathurst wins and championships.

“It is also great to have Supercheap Auto staying with me as we’ve built up a very close relationship and enjoyed a fair bit of success together.

“There’s plenty more to come and I am glad they are along for the ride.”

The 25-year-old was the team’s top finisher in the 2017 championship in fifth, winning the PIRTEK Enduro Cup with Steve Owen.

Of Mostert’s team-mates, Cameron Waters also penned a new deal last year through to the end of 2019, and Richie Stanaway enters Supercars on what was announced as a multi-year agreement.

That leaves 2015 champion Mark Winterbottom entering the final season of his contract.

“It locks in a key part of our structure and provides everyone in the team with a lot of confidence,” team principal Tim Edwards said of the announcements.

“Chaz’s colleagues enjoy working with him, as do our commercial partners and he is adored by members and fans alike so we know this news will be welcomed by all.

“Chaz has enjoyed a strong level of success since entering the category but I think the thing that has made him a true star of our sport is the way he has rebuilt himself since his accident [at Bathurst in 2015].

“Those moments are always a crossroads and while it was a very tough time, I believe the experience has made him a better driver and a more mature person.”

Mostert’s 2018 livery will be unveiled before the Supercars pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 16.
