Supercars appoint Corporate Affairs Manager

Supercars has announced Cole Hitchcock will return to the sport in the role of General Manager – Corporate Affairs, commencing in January.

CEO James Warburton said Hitchcock would return to Supercars having previously held the role of General Manager – Communications for 12 years until August 2015.

Hitchcock is currently Corporate Affairs Manager with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), the major partner of the Gold Coast, Townsville and Ipswich Supercars events.

“I am delighted Cole has agreed to return to Supercars to lead our communications and digital team in the role of General Manager – Corporate Affairs, commencing on January 30,” Warburton said.

“Cole is well known within our industry having spent 12 years with us as General Manager – Communications, and brings with him enduring relationships with the media, Government, stakeholders and commercial partners.

“He has spent the past 14 months working as Corporate Affairs Manager with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) where he has applied his expertise in strategic management, public affairs, media liaison, crisis management and Government relations.

“His knowledge of the media, Government, major events, sport and strategic direction will be a tremendous asset to our communications and digital team as we look to grow the sport in the coming years.”

Hitchcock’s appointment follows that of Stefan Bartholomaeus as Digital Editor and Lewis Isaacs as lead news writer for supercars.com.
