A spin at turn 12 hasn't stopped Steve Richards recording the best time of the co-drivers in Practice Two at the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600.

Richards topped the session in the Red Bull Holden Commodore, with a 1min11.566sec lap around the Surfers Paradise street circuit.

It was a 0.19sec gap back to David Russell in the Jack Daniel's Nissan (with Rick Kelly), with Tony D'Alberto (Tim Slade), Jonathon Webb (Shane van Gisbergen), Paul Dumbrell (Jamie Whincup), Alex Premat (Scott McLaughlin), Steve Johnson (David Wall), Taz Douglas (James Moffat), Greg Ritter (Robert Dahlgren) and Craig Baird (Lee Holdsworth) completing the top 10 - which contained all five manufacturers.

Others to note include Greg Murphy (James Courtney) 12 and Steve Owen (Mark Winterbottom) 13th.

More drivers were pinged for the overuse of kerbs with Russell, Tim Blanchard, Cam Waters, Dumbrell and Dean Canto included in the list of drivers receiving black flags.

Some drivers will take the one-minute stop penalty in the next practice session, as time ran low in P2.

The day's next half-hour practice session is for co-drivers only, at 1.40pm local time.
