Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport's Nick Percat has been signed off to contest the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint while recovering from a foot injury.

The former Bathurst winner was hospitalised in the week following the Auckland event after a broken exhaust header caused an increase in heat in the foot well and burnt Percat's right foot on the Gold Coast.

Percat will get behind the wheel of the Repair Management Australia Racing Commodore for the first practice session and see how he is feeling after the one-hour run.

He is keen to drive, but the team has enduro co-driver Karl Reindler on standby if required.

The team listed Percat as primary driver yesterday when line-ups had to be confirmed with V8 Supercars and would need to apply to the Stewards for permission to change drivers across the weekend.
