Australian-made lubricant manufacturer Penrite Oil has taken major naming rights of Erebus Motorsport’s 2016 V8 Supercars entry.

Enjoying its introduction to V8 Supercars by Erebus in the latter half of the 2015, the iconic Australian company will be the major naming partner of the #9 Erebus Motorsport car.

Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, Penrite Oil is keen to increase its support in 2016.

After an initial stint in the sport last year, Penrite Oil Corporate Partnership Manager Jarrod Harding is looking forward to maximising the company’s involvement.

“We believe V8 Supercars is the perfect fit for our brand,” said Harding.

“We really enjoyed our introduction last year as the primary partner of a leading race team, and we learnt a great deal which we’ll build upon this year.”

Erebus Motorsport Team Owner Betty Klimenko is delighted to have Penrite Oil expand its commitment to the team.

“Penrite is an Australian family owned and operated company and I am proud to have them as a primary partner,” said Klimenko.

“They really got involved last year and are as excited about racing as we are.

“Technically we also need to be working with performance partners that appreciate the demands of motorsport as Penrite does.”

Driver of the #9 Supercar David Reynolds is excited about Penrite’s continued involvement with the team.

“It’s terrific news that Penrite is increasing their support for this year,” said Reynolds.

“I’ve met with Penrite and they are a great bunch of people and I already feel that we get on well, so I’m really looking forward to working with them.”

With a family history which embraced Australian motorsport, Harding understands the important of the sport to Penrite Oil.

“We want everyone to know how important domestic racing is to this company,” said Harding.

“John Dymond built Penrite into what it is today and he enjoyed all forms of motorsport.

“The Dymond family want to maintain their involvement with Australia’s premier motorsport category which perfectly showcases Penrite Oil products.

“We’ll be rolling out many exciting activations throughout the year so we’re thrilled to be back on board.”
