McLaughlin penalised

Kiwi Scott McLaughlin has been penalised for blocking Jamie Whincup in Qualifying for Race 11 at the ITM 500 Auckland.

The Volvo driver – who qualified third – has been docked two grid spots, with Chaz Mostert and Whincup to be elevated to third and fourth for the race start.

Fortunately for the young star, investigation into contact with Jason Bright in pitlane in the day’s second session was dismissed, meaning his ARMOR ALL Pole Position remains.
