Jamie Whincup starts from pole for the day's first race at the ITM 400 Auckland. Can the Red Bull racer back up yesterday's win? Mark Winterbottom starts next to him for the third of the weekend's four 100km races at Pukekohe Park Raceway. 

Weather still fine. 

Cars are on the grid. 

L1 and Mark Winterbottom gets the jump on Whincup with a great start. Courtney in third. 

L2 Safety Car - D'Alberto into the grass and debris on track.  

About to restart. 

D'Alberto said he was hit side to side and guys were "going crazy" trying to pass on the first lap.

Incident under investigation - involved D'Alberto, Blanchard and Holdsworth.

Lights out of SC.  

Restart, on L7.

L9 Van Gisbergen straight ahead at T5. He was sixth. 

L10 Bright and Reynolds fighting over p12.

L11 Winterbottom fastest lap of the race (L10).

L11 Courtney looking vulnerable to Coulthard, tucked in behind. Courtney sits in third. 

L13 Courtney dropping back and after contact with Van Gisbergen is in the gravel at the hairpin. Safety car. 

The contact under investigation. 

Under Safety Car we have Winterbottom, Whincup, Coulthard, Will Davison, Van Gisbergen, McLaughlin, Lowndes, Premat, Tander, Alex Davison. Bright in 11. 

Back on L17 of 35.

L17 Coulthard goes around while Winterbottom and Whincup fight for position.

L19 Angry pack behind Bright, with Reynolds, Alex Davison and Webb. Bright in 10.  

L20 Van Gisbergen around Will Davison for third. 

L20 Frosty reporting steering dramas as he drifts back and drives straight into pitlane. Investigation into contact between Whincup and Winterbottom. 

L23 Whincup off the road and in the gravel trap. Did he say his foot slipped off the pedal? Safety Car. 

L23 and the leader is Coulthard, with Will Davison, Van Gisbergen, Lowndes and Tander top five. 

FPR Team Principal Tim Edwards says we "just saw karma" after the incident between Whincup and Winterbottom earlier. 

Whincup no longer series leader - most points to Will Davison.

L27, just under 10 laps to go.

L27 Will Davison up the inside of Coulthard, and Van Gisbergen follows - Davison in the lead. 

L28 McLaughlin has a good save after going off the road. He's back in 22.

L29 McLaghlin off and in wall - that's a 200km corner. He's ok, but will have the wind knocked out of him. Will be checked out by the medical team. 

Safety Car out again. 

L31, but less than a minute to go with the time restriction. 

Safety Car gone for one last flying lap. 

And Will Davison wins the race and is now top of the points table. Followed by Van Gisbergen, Coulthard, Lowndes, Tander, Bright, Reynolds, Webb, Alex Davison, Rick Kelly. 

Others to note Courtney, Winterbottom, Whincup, McLaughlin 22-25.
