Rookie Chaz Mostert wins his first ever V8 Supercars race, leading from start to finish and holding off FPR's Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom.

The final race of the Coates Hire Ipswich 360, Championship Race 24 is about to get underway. What will the weather do? Pepsi Max Crew FPR's Will Davison starts from ARMOR ALL Pole Position, with Dick Johnson Racing's Chaz Mostert starting alongside on the front row, for the first time in his V8 Supercars career. 

David Reynolds and Tim Slade start from the second row of the grid – Slade and Erebus Motorsport V8's best qualifying effort for the year – and winner of the earlier race Scott McLaughlin is in position six. 

The Red Bull racers are alongside one another, ninth and 10th on the grid.

Mostert gets a great jump and leads Tim Slade. Davison is back to third and Reynolds slots in behind him. Premat and Ingall off the track behind the leaders. 

L2 McLaughlin gets by Reynolds for fourth. 

Ingall's car is limping, Premat in the garage. 

L3 Slade off the road and drops from second to 18th. 

Mostert has set the fastest lap on lap three with 1min10.5939. He leads Will Davison, McLaughlin, Reynolds, Winterbottom, Courtney, Alex Davison, Coulthard, Whincup and Lowndes in the top 10. 

Blanchard off the track, engine dramas, on the back straight between two and three. Teams reporting there's oil over the radio.

L6 McLaughlin goes through for second and Will Davison finds the oil and runs very wide, as do many behind him including Winterbottom, Courtney, and Holdsworth who has a bit of an off-track excursion. He manages to rejoin though. 

LAP BY LAP PIC - Chaz Mostert leads the race: 

Lowndes and Whincup battling over eighth, Whincup's tyre's blown, flapping and causing bodywork damage and he's in pit lane. 

New tyre and Whincup is back out, rejoining in 25th. L11. 

LAP BY LAP PIC - Premat and Ingall off the road lap one: 

"You're doing a great job, keep it up," Adam De Borre says to Mostert over the radio. 20 laps to go. 

Slade's up to 13th, having made five positions since running off track, and is battling with Tander, L13.

Ingall says he was sandwiched, with Pye diving up the inside, and hit Premat.

Post race investigation Pye and Premat, turn one lap one.

L16 Mostert and McLaughlin lead an FPR train, with Will Davison, Reynolds, Alex Davison and Winterbottom. 

Halfway through the race. Whincup is still down in 24th. 

Whincup into pit lane with a flat tyre, L19. 

LAP BY LAP PIC - Whincup's blown tyre:

Courtney off the road and another punctured tyre, and another left front for McLaughlin. Will Davison passes into second. 

McLaughlin has pitted and rejoined in 21st ahead of the two HRT cars.

Eight laps to go and Mostert leads Will Davison by over seven seconds, and Reynolds. 

"Both cars in front of you, Tander and McLaughlin, same problem as you and we're racing them," Campbell Little tells Alex Davison over the radio, in 22nd. 

Five laps to go. 

LAP BY LAP PIC - Slade is up to eighth:

Gap is 3.9sec from Mostert to Will Davison in second. 

Final lap and Mostert wins his first ever V8 Supercars race. Another win, another rookie. 

The three FPR Fords of Will Davison, Winterbottom and Reynolds follow, with Coulthard the first Holden home. 

Lowndes, Bright, Slade, Rick Kelly and Todd Kelly round out the top 10. 

McLaughlin, Tander, Alex Davison, Courtney, Wall, Whincup from 20th to 25th.
