Judicial Vision: Turn 3 tangle at Ipswich

An opening lap tangle in Saturday’s Race 15 proved the most notable incident in a largely clean weekend of racing at the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint.

Dale Wood was docked 35 championship points for reckless driving after he caused contact that spun James Moffat at Turn 3.

The rotating Moffat subsequently tagged Garry Rogers Motorsport team-mate James Golding, damaging both Wilson Security Commodores.

Golding soldiered on with bent steering while Moffat eventually pitted when his engine began to overheat.

The chain-reaction also saw Simona De Silvestro’s Nissan and Alex Rullo’s Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport Holden tangle, putting the latter out of the race.
