Nissan V8 Supercars hero Rick Kelly has joined GoPro and its team of worldwide athletes in a new personal, multi-year deal.

GoPro is the maker of the world’s most versatile camera that captures today’s most engaging, user-generated content.

Kelly, a two-time Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 winner and former V8 Supercars Champion, will be seen with a brand-new GoPro helmet, starting at the Winton 360 V8 Supercars event (August 23-25).

Kelly joins other GoPro supported athletes from around the world, including surfing legend Kelly Slater, skateboarder Ryan Sheckler and rally and stunt driver Ken Block.

Besides capturing a lot of his driving in the #15 Jack Daniel’s Nissan Altima, Kelly’s new partnership will expose other aspects of his personal life including ski racing and dirt bike riding at the family farm.

Kelly has welcomed GoPro to his personal team of sponsors, including long-standing backers Oakley, Honda, Giant, Arai and Globe.

“I’m so excited to announce the relationship with GoPro,” Kelly said.

“One aspect of racing that I have always loved is to have the opportunity to work with brands that I love and enjoy in everyday life. I have been capturing different aspects of my life with my GoPro for years, so to be able to work with the GoPro team on an official level and proudly wear a GoPro helmet is a real privilege.

“I see GoPro as one of the coolest brands in the world, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the team as it continues to grow.

“Being a V8 Supercar driver for me is a dream job. I have driven these cars for many years and still get excited every time I step in the car. I want to be able to share this experience with everyone as it happens, and with the new GoPro app and my social media channels, I’ll now be able to have all our fans join me on my journey.”
