Gallery: Red Bull HRT's next-gen Commodore

The Red Bull Holden Racing Team unveiled the colours Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen will carry in the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship this morning in Sydney.

In a unique start to the year, the covers came off on a barge in the middle of Sydney Harbour, surrounded by some of the city’s landmarks and accompanied by a road-going ZB.

Triple Eight has developed the new ZB platform to be raced by all eight Holden teams this year, with the Commodore the first hatch in Supercars and the maiden Gen2 model.

Whincup, who will run #1 on his Commodore, also announced that he had signed a 12-month contract extension, through to the end of the 2019 season.

The factory squad’s new ZBs will run for the first time in February, ahead of the pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 19.
