Mark Winterbottom will contest 2015 with a new race engineer, with Grant McPherson having departed Ford Performance Racing.

McPherson - who also played a key role in FPR's engineering department - engineered Winterbottom this season, and Will Davison in 2013, to third in the Championship.

The team released this short statement this afternoon:

Prodrive Racing (Australia) has parted ways with race engineer Grant McPherson effective immediately.

McPherson has left the team to pursue other career opportunities.

"We thank Grant for his eight years of service and we part on good terms and wish him well for his future endeavours," said PRA Team Principal Tim Edwards.

McPherson was Winterbottom's thirdengineer in three years as the team has looked for the right combination to take their star driver to his first V8 Supercars Championship title.

At this stage the team is looking to promote internally, or recruit new talent, to run Car 5 next season.

The departure of McPherson will not impact the team's impending aero test, with the Ford Falcon FG X prepared for the run in early January.

McPherson has been linked to an opening at Triple Eight Race Engineering, with Craig Lowndes' engineer Jeromy Moore believed to be looking at opportunities overseas.

This marks the first announcement of personnel changes since the conclusion of the 2014 V8 Supercars season.
