Warming up for the Castrol Gold Coast 600, motor racing royalty converged on Dreamworld today as three Peter Brock racing cars - including his most famous ride 'The Big Banger' - arrived at the park, the first instalment in Dreamworld's new Motorsports Precinct opening this Christmas.

Ready for pole position, Brock's 1984 HDT 'Big Banger' VK Commodore, 1987 Holden Commodore VL Group A and 1972 HDT Torana GTR XU-1 will be part of the world's largest collection of Brock cars on display in 'Brock's Garage', currently under construction at the park.

Arriving to a fanfare reception, the cars were welcomed by local motoring enthusiasts, Brock family members and the Gold Coast's own Red Bull Racing V8 Supercar legend and reigning champ Jamie Whincup.

Six-time championship winner Whincup super-charged his batteries for this weekend's Castrol Gold Coast 600 with a warm-up lap on Dreamworld's thrill ride The BuzzSaw.

Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson announced the park's new Motorsports Precinct partners as Dunlop, Hot Wheels and V8 Supercars.

"We are delighted to be working with former collection owner Peter Champion, the Brock family, Dunlop, Hot Wheels and V8 Supercars to kick off this exciting new chapter for Dreamworld and Australian motor racing," Davidson said.

V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton said the new Dreamworld precinct was 'great news' for the motor racing industry.

"This is an exciting announcement as we prepare for this weekend's Castrol Gold Coast 600, Queensland's biggest sporting event," Warburton said.

"Peter Brock was a legend of Australian motor sport and we are delighted he is going to be honoured at one of the Gold Coast's leading tourist attractions."

Bev Brock said seeing the cars arrive at Dreamworld brought back fond memories and stirred emotions.

"There is no doubt that Peter still retains an enormous number of extremely dedicated fans," Brock said.

"Their emotional responses whenever they see a car that evokes powerful memories for them only strengthens our special memories of a most remarkable man, father and partner. We are overjoyed that Dreamworld have chosen to create this remarkable facility to honour his truly amazing career."

With works underway, Davidson said construction was on track for Brock's Garage doors to open post-Christmas showcasing 30 replica and authentic Brock vehicles.

Other precinct highlights include the Hot Wheels Hot Lap rollercoaster (formerly 'Cyclone'), six state-of-the-art V8 Supercar racing simulators, the Grid Burgers and Sports Bar and Trackside retail outlet.

The revamped Hot Wheels Hot Lap rollercoaster train will replicate Hot Wheels vehicles, complete with racing harnesses and steering wheels.

Hot Wheels Senior Marketing Manager Alexandria Guttman said "Make it Epic" was rooted in the overall 'Hot Wheels Brand Purpose: Exhilaration and Achievement for every kid' and what better way to "Make it Epic" than with the new Hot Wheels Hot Lap Roller Coaster.

Precinct partner Dunlop will provide theming throughout Trackside and the sports bar.

"Dunlop is extremely proud to partner with Dreamworld for thenew MotorsportPrecinct. Racing is part of our heritage, thisbeing our 14th year as the official V8 Supercar control tyre andwe are excited to work with Dreamworld," said Dunlop Product and Brand Manager Jeanette Aston.

After their short appearance in park today, the Brock cars will now be stored until the Motorsports Precinct opens after Christmas 2015.
