Beko Australia and New Zealand will become title sponsor of Will Davison’s #9 Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercar on a multi-event agreement for the Clipsal 500 and Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

The team considers the commitment a coup ahead of this week’s Clipsal 500.

Beko Australia and New Zealand, based on the Gold Coast, has agreed to an upgraded presence with the Erebus Motorsport #9 car, having already been an existing sponsor with the team since late 2012.

Beko’s increased investment with Erebus Motorsport comes off the back of the company’s successful sponsorship of the recent inaugural Auckland Nines NRL tournament.

Erebus Chief Executive Officer Ryan Maddison said it was fantastic one of the team’s valued, existing sponsors had made the decision to increase involvement with the team in the build-up to the season opener.

“Beko has been a great supporter of Erebus Motorsport since late 2012 so it’s both really pleasing and highly rewarding that the company is taking their involvement to the next level,’’ Maddison said.

“Beko have seen the value of successful partnerships with various sports and they are increasing their involvement with Erebus Motorsport at an exciting time for all involved with the team.

“The entire Erebus Motorsport family is thrilled to have them on board for the Clipsal 500 and the Australian Grand Prix where we are hoping that both of our cars can feature in the top 10.’’

Beko Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Michael Goadby said he was excited about the company’s opportunity with Erebus Motorsport for the first two V8 Supercars events of 2014.

“Beko recognises this partnership as an outstanding opportunity to receive extra exposure at what are regarded as two of Australia’s great sporting events in the Clipsal 500 and Australian Grand Prix,’’ said Goadby.

“Beko is continually looking at various ways to maximise exposure for our brand and we see this partnership as a great vehicle to do that.

“We are absolutely delighted with the look of the vehicle and the Erebus Motorsport team so it’s a great fit for all concerned.’’

Previously, Beko had been on board as a sponsor of Erebus Motorsport’s former #47 car which ran last season.

At this week’s Clipsal 500, Erebus Motorsport’s #4 Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercar to be driven by Lee Holdsworth will continue to run the team’s charity partner, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, as title sponsor.

Beko is a leading supplier of a wide range of domestic appliances. Packed with the latest state-of-the-art features and technology, such as the 6 Star energy rated ‘heat pump dryer’ and some of the most energy efficient washing machines in the world, Beko has a product to suit all your needs.

Tickets are available for this week's Clipsal 500, the V8 Supercars season opener, now.
