What would you do to win the ultimate ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 weekend?

V8 Supercars is giving away an amazing prize – flights, hotel accommodation and tickets for you and three mates – to the party event of the season.

The prize is so good, Holden Racing Team’s James Courtney got in on the action, starring in a video promoting the contest for his home event.

The video sees Courtney – leisurely bike riding in his HRT reds, as always – kidnapped by desperados after the prize, disguised as giant pandas.

Quirky Courtney was more than happy to be involved in the ‘kidnap’ video when approached by V8 Supercars, and said the day was a lot of fun.

But, despite his limited screen time in the clip, it took a couple of hours to create.

“I got there early in the morning – as my acting skills aren’t that flash, it took a while to do,” Courtney said.

“I pulled up on my bike, guys jump up in panda masks and spray paint suits, grab me, put a bag over my head and throw me in a van.

“It was a bit weird, we got strange looks from people walking through!”

But had it not be planned, Courtney probably would have been able to defend himself, having accidentally whacked the kidnapper with his bicycle helmet!

“When they put the bag over my head, they said to swing the helmet, and I cracked one of the guys! That was funny.”

The HRT star, who has recorded one race win and two ARMOR ALL Pole Positions this season, said it was good mixing it up and working on something a little out of the ordinary to promote a V8 Supercars event.

And he was full of praise for the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600, which pairs intense on-track action by day with spectacular beach concerts in the evenings.

“It’s a great event with a good atmosphere,” Courtney said. “The best part is, coming off such a stressful weekend with Bathurst two weeks earlier, it’s quite a relaxed atmosphere really.

“It’s in Queensland, there’s ocean, people are excited about getting there. The atmosphere is a party with bands – so it’s a good balance.”

Add to that the completion of the PIRTEK Enduro Cup – a first time prize for the most successful endurance campaigners – and what more could you ask for?
