Caruso gets new Nissan livery for Newcastle

Michael Caruso will finish the Supercars season sporting a Nissan Financial Services livery in the maiden Coates Hire Newcastle 500.

Caruso’s Altima will carry the branding of Nissan’s new-car financing arm, making it four different schemes in 2017’s last five events, having spent the first nine in factory Nismo colours.

“Racing at a brand new circuit with a cracking new Nissan Financial Services livery is pretty exciting,” Caruso said.

“We’ve had a few different colour schemes this season, but I think this is one of the best we’ve had, it looks really tough.

“I can’t wait to get out there, push forward and end the 2017 season on a strong note.”

Caruso starts the Newcastle event 13th in the standings, one spot ahead of team-mate and squad co-owner Rick Kelly.

Todd Kelly will retire from full-time Supercars competition at least at the end of the weekend and is 19th, while the fourth Altima of rookie Simona De Silvestro is 24th.

For 2018, the last year of Nissan’s current Supercars deal, the Kelly family-run operation will not re-homologate the aerodynamic package of the Altima.
