Stewards Summary Update #1: issued Friday 24th March 2017 at 1930hrs

Matters from Practice:

  • Car # 34, James Moffat, had a lap time deleted for shortcutting the circuit at Turn 12.

Matters from Qualifying – Race 1:

  • Following the session the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of Schedule B2 Rule 2.1 (Careless Driving) by the Drivers of Car # 2, Scott Pye, and of Car # 888, Craig Lowndes, specifically blocking Car #78, Simona de Silvestro. The DRD determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards.

Matters from Qualifying – Race 2:

The following had their lap time deleted for shortcutting the circuit at Turn 12:

  • Car # 22, James Courtney;

  • Car #3, Taz Douglas.

Matters from Qualifying – Race 3:

The following had their lap time deleted for shortcutting the circuit at Turn 12:

  • Car # 78, Simona de Silvestro;

  • Car #62, Alex Rullo.

Matters from Qualifying – Race 4:

The following had their lap time deleted for shortcutting the circuit at Turn 12:

  • Car # 17, Scott McLaughlin;

  • Car #888, Craig Lowndes.

Matters from Race 1:

  • After the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of Schedule B2 Rule 3.3.2 (Leaving the Track) by the Driver of Car # 12, Fabian Coulthard, specifically shortcutting the circuit at Turn 4. The DRD determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards.

  • Following an Investigation and an admission of Careless Driving by Car #2 Scott Pye, causing contact with Car #6 Cameron Waters at the exit of Turn 4, the Stewards imposed the Penalty of the addition of 15 seconds to the Race Time of Car #2, Scott Pye for Race 1.

Matters from Race 2:

  • The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car # 55 Chaz Mostert for a driving infringement (Careless Driving, causing contact with Car #97 Shane van Gisbergen at Turn 15 on Lap 3).

  • After the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of the Start Procedure (Jump Start) by the Driver of Car # 5, Mark Winterbottom. The DRD determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards.

  • After the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of Schedule B2 Rule 2.1 (Careless Driving) by the Driver of Car # 6 Cameron Waters, specifically causing contact with Car #14 Tim Slade at Turn 15 under Safety Car conditions. The DRD determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards.
