Prodrive Racing (Australia) is excited to introduce MEGA Limited as the team’s newest naming-rights partner with the petroleum supply company to be the primary supporter of returning Ford star Jason Bright who will pilot the team’s #56 entry in the 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Bright returns to the team he drove for in 2005 and 2006 and will again be in the same line-up as fellow Bathurst winner, Mark Winterbottom with whom he won the 2006 Sandown 500 crown.

The 43-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the team where he believes he can add to his career tally of 20 Supercars wins, 49 podiums and 17 pole positions.

“I am really excited about the opportunity for 2017,” Bright said.

“PRA have been very successful in the last few years with plenty of race wins, two Bathurst titles and a championship so I am looking forward to stepping back into one of their cars and seeing how we go. I feel like we can be competitive.

“It is also great to see a new sponsor in MEGA Limited entering the series and I am going to enjoy representing them.”

MEGA Limited supplies petroleum products including fuel, distillate and Ad-blue to the wholesale, retail and remote industry markets.

“MEGA Limited and its associated companies, MEGA Quality Fuels, MEGA Quip and MEGA Marine are very excited to announce our partnership with PRA,” said MEGA Limited’s National Motorsport Manager Terry Knight.

“To be associated with such a successful team as PRA is a huge thrill for us. We are equally thrilled to have such a successful, distinguished and talented driver in Jason Bright join PRA. The fact he will represent our brand in its inaugural season in Supercars is fantastic.

“Our long-term sponsorship of car #56 enables MEGA Ltd to promote our products and services to a very large and loyal motorsport audience.”

Prodrive Racing team owner Rod Nash believes the addition of MEGA Limited to the team is a just reward for recent efforts on and off the track.

“We are very proud to be introducing a new naming-rights level brand to our team and the Supercars sport as a whole,” Nash said.

“MEGA Limited is a great local success story and to have them believe in our product so strongly is a real credit to our team’s performances on and off the track.

“It is also a by-product of the recent efforts of (Supercars CEO) James Warburton and his team to boost the profile of the championship so we look forward to assisting them to grow their profile through the sport.”

Prodrive Racing Team Principal Tim Edwards welcomed Bright back to the team’s roster.

“It is great to have Jason back at the team and we are all looking forward to having him back racing our cars and continuing the success we shared all those years ago,” Edwards said.

“There is actually a lot of staff that he worked with in 05/06 that are still part of the team so there is a degree of familiarity which will help too, plus he will bring a lot of knowledge and be a great sounding board for Chaz (Mostert) and Cam (Waters) which will be a big benefit.”

Prodrive Racing and MEGA Limited will unveil Bright’s #56 entry in the New Year ahead of the Supercars season launch in early February.
