The B-Rock Super Wednesday will officially crank the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 into gear next week, with plenty of opportunities for fans to get up close and personal with their V8 Supercar favourites.

The official opening of race week kicks off when the V8 Supercars circus makes a spectacular entrance, roaring into Bathurst with the impressive B-Double Transporter Parade.

See these giant machines up close as they convoy into town and make their way along William Street to Kings Parade.

The annual favourite among fans will begin at 11.15am, and according to Transport and Logistics Coordinator Jason Routley - who drives the V8 Supercars transporter - it's an introduction not to be missed.

"Bathurst is obviously the spiritual home of motor racing, so it's a pretty special place to come to," Routley said.

"All the locals have the town nicely presented and full of colour and the reception is amazing, it really transforms when we roll into town for that week in October."

Routley believes the Bathurst transport parade has the biggest turnout of any other state.

"It's so densely populated you have to take it easy going through town! It's good, you can take it all in and put on a good rolling display for the crowd, who have come from near and far to see the convoy."

Everything is in one convenient location for fans, with the official off-track V8 Supercars signing session following the parade, from 12.15pm to 2.30pm on Kings Parade.

For V8 Supercars driver Scott Pye - who sits fifth overall in the chase for the Pirtek Enduro Cup, as the best placed 'young gun' - 2014 marks the second time he tackles Bathurst as a main driver, where he will battle the greats.

"The excitement for Bathurst, it's there all year, you think about it - but when it's a couple of weeks out you start to get really excited about it and certainly when you roll in and see that Mount Panorama on the hill it's special," Pye told v8supercars.com.au.

"For me last year, going there as a lead driver was a really cool achievement and last year was a good result."

Pye achieved his career best finish there last year, coming home sixth while paired with Paul Morris. This time around he is with a new team in Wilson Security Dick Johnson Racing, and comes off a strong finish at the Wilson Security Sandown 500.

Meet the drivers on Wednesday and lock in your tickets for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, which begins on Thursday at the historic Mount Panorama.
