The tables were turned on Channel 10's 'The Bachelor' Sam Wood today, when his heart was set racing at the Wilson Security Sandown 500.

After a heavy grilling during home visits on last night's episode of The Bachelor, Wood was again put in the hot seat - this time, riding alongside Nissan Motorsport's James Moffat for a lap around Sandown Raceway.

The 34-year-old was treated to two laps around the 3.1 kilometre circuit, reaching speeds near 270 kilometres per hour.

So which is more nerve-wracking? A speedy lap in a V8 Supercar, or speed-dating 25 women at once?

"Probably that," he laughed.

"No I really don't know what's harder, they certainly both come with their fair share of challenges!"

A personal-trainer, Wood was full of praise for Moffat and his fellow drivers after witnessing what their bodies are put through behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar.

"The cornering, the way it throws you around and the power, it was just incredible," he told v8supercars.com.au.

"I just have a completely new appreciation for what they do.

"I know Moff and a few of the boys because they train at my gym, so it's great to experience what they do first hand."

The meetings rides came at the end of an action-packed day of practice at the Wilson Security Sandown 500, where Moffat and his co-driver Taz Douglas finished the day 19th fastest in thecombined times.

Taking the wheel for the first session of the day, Moffat brought the #99 Altima home 14th quickest, while Douglas was 13th and 17th in practice two and three respectively.

Moffat sports new war paint for the first round of the PIRTEK Enduro Cup, showcasing the team's support from Mack Trucks.

Mack Trucks are long-time partners of Nissan Motorsport, having been responsible for transporting the Kelly Racing/Nissan Motorsport cars to every event since 2009.

"It's great to have Mack Trucks on the car for the weekend, the first of the enduro's at Sandown," Moffat said.

"They've been a long-time partner of the team and for them to take up the naming-rights opportunity for the weekend is exciting.

"It's great to have their support."
