De Pasquale pips El-Nabi for pole

Penrite Racing’s Anton De Pasquale has claimed his seventh ARMOR ALL Pole Position of the BP Supercars All Stars Eseries, for the opening race at Brazil’s Interlagos.

In the opening session of the night, De Pasquale was quickest, just 15-thousands of second quicker than the freshest face on the grid.

BP Ultimate Wildcard Fawzan El-Nabi in the #98 Mustang showed why he was a deserved winner of the fan competition to race this evening, clocking the second quickest time, just 0.015 behind De Pasquale.

El-Nabi is a full-time iRacer and is expected to feature near the front of the pack in each of tonight’s three races.

The top ten places on the starting grid for the second race of the evening will be populated by De Pasquale, El-Nabi, Shane van Gisbergen, Chaz Mostert, Scott McLaughlin, Andre Heimgartner, Cam Waters, Fabian Coulthard, Zane Goddard and Lee Holdsworth.

Out of tonight’s other three wildcards Team 18’s James Golding qualified 16th, Dunlop Super2 rookie Tyler Everingham who is flying the flag for Dubbo NSW, will start from 20th while James Courtney in his first ever laps of a virtual Ford Mustang will start from last.

Next up is qualifying at Phillip Island.
