Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has recently announced their plan of building a new engine plant in Ogawa, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The main objective of Honda for building the new plant is to hasten its production system for advanced engines so as to meet the increasing global demand for fuel efficient vehicles. Honda is hoping to start operation of their new plant in summer of 2009. The plant is said to be capable of producing 200,000 units of advanced engines which will be supplied to Honda auto plants inside and outside Japan. Honda will invest at least 25 billion yen for their new plant and will be employing not lesser than 500 associates.
